Ah~ la petite boîte bleue and i have long developed a love for each other. Ever since I first laid my eyes on them. My heart skipped a beat, I inhaled a sharp breath, and voila~ our love begins there.
Last winter Tiffany & Co came up with a selection of key necklaces in time for the holiday season. Although I absolutely looved the idea of it, and definitely had a -love at first sight- moment with the Crown Key in particular, I have always held back on purchasing it.
Why you ask? I couldn't have told you myself if I hadn't found this beautiful piece of antique skeleton key yesterday.
Although beautiful, something aged being so perfect just does not seem so.. *perfect* per-say. When a key such as the Crown Key is being worn as a piece of jewelery, personally I think it's much more meaningful if it fits the history and time of where it came from (or where the design is inspired from).
Now, this piece of skeleton key I believe according to the seller, was from the 50's. It is well kept in perfect shape, except for the discoloration here and there. However that's part of the reason why I was so in love! *Le Sigh*
I quickly purchased it and came home, found a piece of gold chain necklaces and popped it on. I wore it with my outfit last night - a ruffled dark purple skirt, cream loose v top, and nude pumps.
In the future I would spike up this key maybe with another charm, or crystal. To add a romantic feel to it, or I can dress it up edgy with a thicker chain.
Oh vintage pieces. How I adore thee.
Happy Friday !
