Eggs and Lemons. These two items are always present in my fridge. No matter the season, EGGS AND LEMONS are always on my groceries list.
Egg whites, easily consumed in breakfast, or to my boyfriend, he most likely sees it on my face from time to time...
Egg whites contain around 40 different proteins! One of which is the enzyme hydrolystate, which promotes the synthesis of hyaluronic acid in fibroblasts at the dermis (??). Fibroblasts = produce collagen.
By applying egg white on my face, I feel the instant tightening sensation, and I can see the result of shrunken pores.
Calamansi, is a rich source of fruit acids, this and the Glycolic acid can be found used widely in the cosmetic industry. They penetrate the skin and loosen the bonds that hold the dead cells together, which allows exfoliation to take place.
Dead skin cells is what contribute and causes acne formation by blocking our pores. Therefore it also gives the skin an un even texture.
The fruit acids not only exert a peeling effect on the skin but also stimulates a formation of collagen and elastin on the dermal layer. Whether as an acne treatment or beauty enhancer, fruit acids are shown to be beneficial in our beauty ritual.
My homemade egg white lemon juice facial consist of
one egg white, beaten till foams form.
juice of half a lemon
mix together, and apply with a brush.
let it dry for 10 minutes then rinse off with luke warm water.
rinse with cold water to close pores
I alternate this with the avocado mask. However, if I feel lazy some days, I simply use a thin layer of lemon and apply it all over my face, let it sit for a minute before rinsing off.
mm i'm gonna try this when i get back home to ny!! i dont have big pores but i do have some acne that won't go away, or goes away sloooowly *sigh*
