Coconut Goodness

Hello everyone, today I want to share with you guys a beauty product that you will always find in my cooking cabinet as well as my beauty shelf - Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.

Coconuts are high in fiber, Omega 3, and Vitamin C/B6. In the Philippines coconuts trees are called the “Tree of Life” because of the many health benefits and uses of the tree and it’s fruit(Coconuts).

Coconut oil is very heat stable, which makes it suited to methods of cooking at high temperatures like frying. Since its more healthy than vegetable oil, sunflower oil and butter, I have recently switched over to using Coconut Oil as my main cooking ingredient. It may smell very strong of coconut at first, however the taste of your dish will not be affected.

Coconut oil can also be used as a beauty product. Personally I use coconut oil as a makeup remover, and I find that it does the job better than most store bought products (lancome, clinique, etc.), since it is all nature it will only benefit your skin and less likely to cause any long term damage.

Within the month of using coconut oil on my face as a makeup remover, I found that my overall look of skin has been improved, I also find that it has strengthened the connective tissues around my eyes, which brought back a youthful look.

I heard that you can also use coconut oil as a hair mask, and it will repair and smooth out any dry fragile hair.

Today I went out to brunch with BF, and one girl commented on how smooth and glowy my skin looked, she then asked what foundation or BB cream I was using, and I wasn't wearing any make up! Not even concealer :). So there you have it, don't judge before you try, I know those of you might find it icky to slather oil all over your face, but as long as you wash your face off with cleanser and apply toner then face cream, having coconut oil as a part of your beauty regiment is definitely beneficial.
